Paying homage to the greatest names in British fashion, today sees the launch of a set of stamps by the UK Post Office celebrating designers who have irrevocably influenced world style. Take for example the extraordinary first one that screams the very soul of Alexander McQueen's flamboyant, costume style.
There is also a stamp that celebrate Dame Vivienne Westwood, playing up the signature tartan and the wild red hair of its maker.
The Paul Smith stamp is refined and elegant, much like the designer himself, boldly playing with colour an tailoring detail.
And then there is the swirl and prints of Ossie Clarke, a huge 70s influence, and Normal Hartnell whose incredible tour collection for the Queen Mother in 1938 was directly attributed to influencing the New Look of Christian Dior in 1947.
So stamp collectors gather round, these are beautiful and should be snapped up in a hurry. I think I may even send off for some myself...
