One of my favourite photographers to work with is a chap by the name of Anthony Friend. He is South African but is now based and working in New York City. The last time we worked together - on a brief visit back here earlier this year - I saw some of the work he had been doing in NYC and asked if I could show it to you guys. You know how I like to show you fashion editorials that you wouldn't otherwise see.
This is a two-part story, starting with this set where he plays with androgyny and contrast. The model's name is Caitlyn and she is ably supported by a slew of boys that I will show you more of next week.
The make up was done by Liz Oliver and it was shot in the area of New York called Hells Kitchen.
What I loved about this story was the light and how the feeling of New York in the chill of early winter can be felt through the images. I am also a sucker for models with short blonde hair, darker brows and angular faces. I always think that working with them will produce incredible results. I would have cast this girl exactly. And that just makes me miss working with Anthony. Do you love it? I do.
