I am pretty sure that every single female guest at the royal wedding of Zara Phillips to Mike Tindall wore nude shoes. Not only is that Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, setting trends for the rest of us to follow, apparently she is also setting shoe trends amongst the royal family. Because when I say every guest, I mean up to and including HRH The Queen, were all wearing nude shoes. Check it out.
As for the rest of the outfits, here are my thoughts:
1. It was jolly decent of Kate Middleton to wear a slightly frumpy dress coat that looked lovely but was recycled from 2006 so as not to upstage the bride. It must be hard to be pretty much the focus of attention at all times and super respectful of her to give over to Zara for the day.
2. Kate did add a hell of a hat. But the design was almost identical to the one Zara wore for her wedding so I think that they possibly had a chat about it before hand. I like that she is taking a risk or two.
2. Camilla also recycled. She slightly amended her Anne Valentine dress coat from Kate's wedding, removing the brocade trim and adding a summer flower hat arrangement.
3. No one embarrassed themselves. With the royals, that's as good as you can hope for. In fact it is a marked improvement on Kate and Wills wedding.
4. Sophie Wessex. Always subtly chic these days. Really starting to get our fashion attention. Well played.
