There is always a great deal of hype and excitement about who gets to be on the covers of the biggest issue of the year the september issue. At my magazine, it is always her majesty, the Uber-boss, Oprah, so we don't have to worry too much. (but she will look super-special for the occasion, I promise). But for the rest of the titles, the heat is on and actress/singer Gwyneth Paltrow scored big when she landed US Elle's Spetember 11 issue.
There are actually two covers, in both of which she is dressed in short, tight, black garments. Other than a very stripped back, minimalist feel to the whole shoot, I am not sure what stylist, Joe Zee, is telling us about Gwyneth or why they chose her with this look. Sure she has a potty mouth, sure she isn't nearly as goodie-two-shoes as she looks. But I'm not sure dressing her in hoochie black really says much beyond the cliches.
I do however really like the close ups of her as she really is an ethereally beautiful woman who simply does not seem to age. Like, at all.
The interview is quite an interesting one as well. She actually touches on her marriage and how hard it can be. But mostly she looks very pretty and cool and generally a happy lady. That's all we ever want to be. And to possibly have her wardrobe. If that's not too much to ask. Thanks.
