One of the errant members of my fantasy book club has been hiding out (I mean working) in Australia for the past few months. Acting as a judge on Australia's Got Talent (the only show beating Aussie Masterchef in the ratings apparently), Dannii Minogue has now also been named as the face of Melbourne Spring Fashion Week. Good for her.
She was photographed in a red lace dress by her favourite Australian designer, J'Anton Couture, for the announcement.
I am inordinately fond of Dannii and think that she has been somehow shafted by the producers of the UK X-Factor. That may not be true, but I just feel that way. But luckily she has plenty of other irons in the fire, including her own line of dresses, Project D. Both that gold and black number (worn to an event) and the printed asymmetric dress (worn to the launch of MSFW) are from the new collection and they look divine. The line has been active for about a year and the craftsmanship on these dresses always looks so flawless. The designs are interesting, although not earth-shattering, but always well fitted and glamorous. You really can't ask for much more than that.
Come back to book club soon Dannii, we miss you.
