This is the way I review a fashion week - first I attend all the shows. Then I look at the images the next day with a fresh head. I already know that the collections that have disappointed me on the basis of bad fabrication or slack finish will not be mentioned. But in the image review I let the collection speak to me as a whole, I listen to what it is saying and hope that there is a story, a narrative, to hear. Every collection needs to be made beautifully out of great fabrics - and then it needs to speak, in the designer's voice, of a contemporary story, aimed at a specific audience. If it does this, and I like it, I will generally review it.
It doesn't mean I don't like all the collections I don't review, it just means that maybe the message wasn't clear. Does that help?
On balance, I am not sure that Lalesso's collection says anything new. And I am not sure of the wisdom of showing the video montage of the clothes we are about to see - kinda spoils the punch line - but I did really like this new print that was introduced. Particularly in a high waisted trouser and the swim wear kimono. So cool, ladies, well played.
