Apparently looking more like a glossy fashion magazine editorial than an album, the fold-out cover of Beyonce's album "4" features her usual daring style choices. However, we are so used to seeing her in Givenchy, Versace, Gucci or even Suno, that it is a shock to find out that she has made a decision to support rather more unknown and up-and-coming designers in this instance.
Steered in their direction by her stylist, Ty Hunter, and her creative director, Jenke Ahmed Tailley, the concept is a different style to match the personality of each song, held together by the album and therefore envisaged exactly as we do an editorial narrative. Awesome.
Names include cult French designer Alexandre Vauthier, embroidery by Lesage, 27-year old Maxime Simoens, Julien Fournie who has only been established for a couple of years. And American student designer Lleah Rae who did the chartreuse body suit up top. She is recent graduate of Parsons New School for Design in NYC.
Such was Beyonce's enjoyment of these new and fresh designers that she went on to wear Alexandre Vauthier's gold encrusted jacket on stage at Glastonbury - picked out of her wardrobe by hubby Jay-Z it is rumoured. And it was SUCH a winning look.
