As the debate rages about what diamond tiara Royal Bride-to-Be Kate Middleton will be wearing on 20th April next year for her wedding, I think that it is far more interesting to take a look at the jewellery she favours right now and the benefits this can have going forward as a member of the British Royal Family.
To start with, let's not forget that we already know Kate was the accessories buyer for high street store, Jigsaw for a while a few years ago. And what may surprise you is that while she was there, she turned her hand to some designing as well - apparently she designed a silver bean and rose quartz necklace with jewellery designer Claudia Bradby, which has of course now been reissued by the company.
But the designer that Kate - and most of her West London chums - wear currently is called Vinnie Day. She is a jewellery designer who works in gold and whose designs are influenced by her upbringing in Kenya.
Again, we know that Kate has made several trips to Kenya herself and that it was the site of her engagement, so she is sentimental about the African nation and all that it represents. Long may this continue and reap rewards for the country, even if only for jewellery.
