So Lady Gaga is in London at the moment and is embracing a really different style of dressing. Gone are the outrageous concept outfits. Out are the expressions of surrealism. And it seems that mostly, Gags is wearing complete outfits. The jury is out on the success of this style evolution, but maybe the latest incarnation of it all will assist. It is colour blocking. And just as I was thinking that her latest style owes more to Victoria Beckham than Theirry Mugler (her erstwhile fashion collaborator), I realised that two out of these outfits was by Osman - a label of which Vicky B has drawn much inspiration. Gaga wore the first two looks - the yellow dress and the cobalt trouser suit - on one day and Osman Yousefzada, a Afgan-British deisgner, must have been doing cartwheels of joy.
The pink and turquoise dress is by Roksanda Ilincic, another Brit, with a Philip Treacy 'sperm' fascinator on her head. Special. And more Gaga than the rest, to be fair.
And then she went straight. To Gucci. All in. A runway look with only the Louboutin boots as a personal statement. I have to lodge an objection at this point. And so for me, the Roksanda Ilincic wins as it is the most expressive of all the looks. I am still struggling to come to terms with this style shift, but I am talking about it a lot more. Interesting.
