You all know I avoid the country music type of red carpets. It is for fear, of course. Any red carpet that has UK soap actors or US country music singers on it is likely to be a fiesta of fashion faux pas. Except apparently for the Country Music Awards (CMAs). Certainly not for the 2011 red carpet anyway. Just look at how lovely these ladies looked. Starting with Faith Hill who almost took my breath away in this white column of joy from Chado Ralph Rucci. No, I have never heard of the designer, but my goodness it is fine. So simple and elegant and a triumph in a sea of country excess. I die for this dress.
And then how about that Taylor Swift? She looks all kind of utterly stunning in her J.Mendel confection of a dress.
And Carrie Underwood's arrival dress by Reem Acra is a show stopper. Of her eight or eleven dresses she wore (there were a lot) to host the event, this one was by far the best. And it was her first. Stunning.
And then there was Ginnifer Goodwin who wore Prabal Gurung and looked modern, sassy and cute. Possibly my favourite of the lot. After Faith Hill, obvs. And Nicole Kidman in her column of Jean Paul Gautier magnificence. If only she knew when to stop. I mean that choker is NOT NECESSARY. Sheesh, she is a frustrating one. Always adding that accessory where it is not welcome. More cool hair, less necklace is warrented here. And then we are good.
