Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, is a good girl. She is currently visiting charities that have asked for her patronage and she believes she could support on the down low, to find out more about them and figure out exactly who and what she will put her name to. She is doing this privately and without fanfare, and is genuinely interested in doing this important work the right way. On a secret visit to an art charity, based at a north London school, she found out the hard way that a princess can never get away with looking like a pauper. As much as it is a tough economic time, and this was a private visit, a member of the royal family is always expected to 'dress up'. Why you ask? Well, because the children at the school didn't believe it was her. "She doesn't look like a princess, where's her dress," they complained loudly as she stepped out in her jeans and jumper.
It made me laugh a lot. No matter who we are or what the occasion, we always like our princesses to look pretty and stylish. And none more so that the fashion-conscious tweens of Islington, North London!
