Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (aka Kate Middleton) made her first official married-lady social engagement last night, attending the 10th annual Absolute Return for Kids (Ark) Gala Dinner with her husband, Wills. OK, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge.
And didn't she look smashing. It is a total fascination to me how she is getting this style thing so incredibly perfect, with no apparent assistance. The sleek lines of this £3,800 Jenny Packham dazzler are well within Kate's usual style lane. The extra shoulder detail is very flattering for her as it gives her some shape. And while she sticks resolutely to high street for almost every non-official engagement, she pulls out the big British-fashion-guns at the official occasions. So clever.
She did of course go to her usual spot to pick up these delightful shoes - that bow detail really making them a surprise choice for me - high street shoe emporium, LK Bennett. And it is apparent that Kate takes a size 39/6 shoe. Good to know.
It is also good that Kate has trimmed those glorious locks of hers. She was seen (carrying her own bags despite the company of several protection officers) earlier in the day doing some errands and it was clear that she had had a hair cut recently. Good girl. Wow. I am in awe.
PS: Now if she could just lose those nude pantyhose that she is so fond of and those dastardly wedges she loves so much, I would find no fault with her at all.
