South African Royal bride-to-be, Charlene Wittstock, looked absolutely amazing this past weekend in a selection of five different outfits for all the events - all designed by Akris. She seems to have found an excellent style pace with this design house and also wore Akris to the amfAR gala recently.
Akris is a Swiss house, which is why it isn't as well known and recognisable as the French houses. However, it is a member of the Paris Chambre Syndicale, and therefore can show at Paris Haute Couture week - but often chooses not to.
Their reputation is one of the highest quality and it is an interesting choice for Charlene. Certainly it seems to be working for both of them, and we can expect to see Akris rising in prominence, should this relationship continue so successfully.
I was really pleased to see such a selection of more youthful designs, as well as the more classic shimmering bronze sheath. The black strapless jumpsuit is wonderfully fun. And the flirty fifties dress (worn with great strappy Choos) is perfect for her style.
