Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, attended Prince William's cousin's wedding this weekend. And looked lovely and elegant in her appropriate outfit. It was appropriate because it didn't stand out and steal the show on someone else's big day. And that it was stylish and underplayed. And that there wasn't a new item in the mix.
Kate has taken to re-wearing key pieces to more private functions so as to get more wear out of them whilst not disappointing us, who follow her every style move.
I saw immediately that the dress was that stunning Jenny Packham that Kate wore in LA last July - to the polo. Then that the coat was from the Derby last June by Katherine Hooker. I looked up the hat. She also wore that to the races last year. And of course we all know the LK Bennett shoes. Which she wears EVERYWHERE. Nice mix and match action lady!
I also liked that Prince William was attentive and supportive of his wife out of the spotlight, with his hand on her back the entire time. And that new hair style of Kate needs a nod too. I like the plaits. If only the curls at the end had been allowed to fall flat for a change, it may even have been cool.
And because we like a South African twist to everything, how about Lady Kitty Spencer. Also in attendance at the wedding? Actually maybe not. Clothes too tight. Skirt too flimsy. Shoes too big. Oh dear. We do know how to dress down here, I promise!
