Jimmy Choo's Tamara Mellon Awarded an OBE
You all know, of course, that I am a Jimmy Choo devotee. I have two pairs I am currently saving for to add to my sizeable collection. Although the cost of servicing my car yesterday kinda did away with those savings. Sigh.
Sorry, I got distracted. Yesterday morning, Jimmy Choo owner, Tamara Mellon received her OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire), from Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace. And apparently I had something to do with her getting this award.
She said, "I am so thrilled to be receiving this great honour and to be recognised in this way. I am grateful to everyone at Jimmy Choo - and our customers around the globe - for helping make our success possible." Well, it's a pleasure Ms Mellon.
It's been a successful week for her - on Monday the Elton John AIDS Foundation awarded the Jimmy Choo founder the Enduring Vision prize, in tribute to the label's fundraising efforts. To date, Jimmy Choo has raised £2.2 million for the charity.
Big up Jimm-to-the-Choo!
