Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, turned out to support Andy Murray at the men's finals of Wimbledon 2012. At her second visit this year, she did even better in the style stakes, in that she was less costumey and more chic. I loved the cream crepe dress (as worn in Canada last year) paired with the boucle jacket - worn twice before - both by Joseph.
The nude LK Bennett shoes were ever present but it was the DvF leopard print clutch and the necklaces that modernised the look for me. I think she looked delightful.
Kate was accompanied by her sister, Pippa Middleton. Pips somewhat redeemed herself from her previous visit (I used the word frumpy to describe her look), and wore a Project D bird-motif dress, designed by my book club mate Dannii Minogue. The on-trend peplum style is great, I just wish that Pips has bloody stood up straight. That girl needs to work on her posture else her boobs are going to merge into her belly one day soon.
The girls loved the tennis and got all involved - particularly Kate who was wrapped up in the game and forgot her carefully controlled face to gurn a bit like us normal people.
Kate was also more affected by the end result, looking close to tears as Andy Murray finished the game the loser and thanked everyone for their support. I mean, it's not like we weren't in tears too.
Finally Kate and Pippa hopped into Kate's Range Rover and she herself drove off. I do like to see that. A modern royal who doesn't get waited on hand and foot. Good girl.
