The less public Golden Globes red carpet is that of the after parties. Many of the stars change into more comfortable frocks, and some of those not invited to the ceremony use it as an opportunity to don their glad rags. And some of these looks were quite successful.
My top style pick from the ceremony, Natalie Portman, changed into an Azzaro smock and silver ballet pumps. I thought that the controversial choice of shoes was actually inspired. Tip top option for comfort (especially for a pregnant lady), they also alluded to her award-winning role as a ballet dancer. This was certainly one occasion where she could get away with flats. And she did so in style.
Alberta Ferretti model, Camilla Belle, chose Armani for the after parties and looked flawless and Disney actress Selena Gomez dazzled in a long vermillion Catherine Deane dress. Both these young stars are starting to get noticed on the fashion scene.
And finally, I have a tiny soft spot for Kelly Brook these days. And I love the elegance of her asymmetrical, bow-back dress which suited her curves perfectly.
