Cape Town Fashion Week 10 - KLuK CGDT
Ah, these boys are fashion miracle workers of such class and dignity that it is almost a cheek to attempt to write a review or synopsis. But I will say the following:
1. They understand that a fashion show is about fashion first and show second. But it is about both and they don't skimp on the show element, thankfully.
2. They understand that they need to sell their clothes to their customers and their show is a way to do this. In a time of economic austerity they have had to get innovative around this part. And have gone much further than others. It still needs to be finessed and tightened up, but a brave beginning, where surely others will follow.
3. They understand that employing Martin Myers to do the music for the show and Mary Reynolds to produce it is a simple and effective route to a good performance.
4. They understand what women want to wear. This season and as timeless classics.
5. They understand that they must tease us, challenge us, delight us and glorify us in their clothes. This, like all their collections, did all these things. It is not an everything for everyone approach, rather a something for everyone. And there certainly was plenty to excite me.
Congratulations Malcolm and Christian.
