Lindiwe Suttle - New Face of Tom Ford Sunglasses

THe very lovely and talented Lindiwe was announced as the new face of Tom Ford sunglasses on Wednesday. I managed to spend some time with her on Wednesday evening and snapped a few first pics of her as an ambassador. I have to say that I really like these glasses.

Cleo Droomer

Keep your eyes on this chap, fashion industry. A young designer who has nabbed a few awards during his studies and has a good head on his shoulders. And impeccable dress-down taste. Particularly liked the boots and accessories.

Me, Carducci Woman

Apologies for quality of photo, I just wanted to show you the dress I am wearing today. It is a Carducci Women dress which never went into production. But due to the love of Francois, I got one. Modelled on a trench coat it is a tea dress with a difference. Just look at the floral stitching on the skirt. And it has pockets. I styled it with Country Road belt and shoes. Oh and I am wearing my Mulberry Bayswater bag as well today. Hoorah.

New Year - Cape Town Style

OK, so I know that it is already the back end of February, but I have been a bit busy with shoots and what nots. Thinking back on bringing in this new year, you really couldn't have asked more from CT than these views. Pretty nifty relaxed outfits too in shades of grey and green.

Christopher

It is the always stylish Christopher's birthday today. The art director of Woolies World magazine, keeps things preppy and simple mostly. Happy day.

Luisa

My indispensible assistant Luisa always has a cute outfit. It's part of her charm. So is her weird spot that she chooses to sit when we are shooting. I mean, on the floor, really? Really?

Luciano

I heart Luciano. He is my go-to guy for hair and make-up. And, like the best of them, he is a wee bit crazy.

Kate

Lovely Kate. The first blonde I have booked in a long time. Reminded me of Miranda Kerr from some angles. But when she is being silly she looks like Mischa Barton which just makes us all laugh more.

Shot Monique for WW and she was lovely. Totally professional and then a goof ball.

O, The Oprah Magazine, March Issue

So as most of you will know, I took up the reins as fashion editor on O Mag back in December 09. My brief was to establish a clear and definitive fashion point of view for the magazine. One that is glamorous and elegant and aspirational and fun and provides some information and inspiration for the O reader.
The first of my main fashion stories was one that drew from my passion for the most luxurious of fabrics. True glamour. So we contrasted and balanced out the real life of an O woman by combining the softness of silk and the delicious robustness of leather. A really great pairing.
If you want to see the results of my first shoot you will need to buy the March issue of O Mag which will be on the shelves this week. Go and get it and let me know what you think.

Pixie and Lipsy Team Up

Girlie clothing brand Lipsy has just announced a design collaberation with the latest British singer/songwriter du jour Pixie Lott, inspired by the singers own unique style. Having been around for all of about 2 minutes, Pixie has already appeared on the cover of UK's In Style in January - reflecting the immense current interest in her style and fashionista credentials. So this collab does make quite a lot of sense and piques my interest.
Apparently the rather prosaically named Pixie Collection, comprises two distinct looks, Pixie Festival and Pixie Party, combining soft vintage style cotton dresses and bleached denim with oversized animal prints and embellishment on sexy chiffon layered dresses.
Since Lispy have established themselves in South Africa as a bit of a go-to brand for on-trend party outfits, I imagine this is going to fly off the shelves. Assuming of course that the party girls know and appreciate who Pixie Lott is...

Even More Behind the Scenes on O Mag Shoot

Luciano and Aniel doing Wendy's hair while Luisa fixes the shoes. All running smoothly, like a well oiled wheel. There is no place happier for me that on a fashion shoot when the model is brilliant, the photographer inspired, assistants are assissting and hair and make up flawless. This was one of those.
If you want to see how it all turned out, you will have to get the April issue of O, The Oprah Magazine, which will be on shelves in mid-March. But I will keep you posted.

This is the hair and make up prep for shooting this gorgeous Jo Borkett dress. It is the epitome of modern tailoring - lovely wool, interesting structure - very Victoria Beckham (with a hint of Roland Mouret as you would expect). The necklace is Woolies.

The Games We Play

Birthday boys Jeremy and Thomas were up for lots of games on Sunday afternoon. Sadly we were all beaten in a rousing game of boule by a small flame haired ringer.
