After six weeks apart,
Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, reunited with her husband, Prince Williams on the slopes of the Trois Vallees ski resort...accompanied by Kate's parents and siblings. Fun. Much has been made of two things. First, that Kate and Wills and their security all flew the budget airline EasyJet and were treated to the holiday by Kate's parents who paid for the accommodation. Ever conscious of being in touch with the tough economic times that the rest of the world is going through, these two simply refuse to flaunt their wealth. Well, as much as one can avoid doing so on a ski holiday. Simple, utilitarian ski clothes that have been seen before and budget airlines. It doesn't get less Royal than this. Where's the glamour guys?
The other thing that caused a bit of a kerfuffle was a style detail. But not on Kate. Kate's mother Carole was spotted wearing a faux fur helmet headband that had been gifted to Kate on her engagement. It had been sent care of Carole, who sent a note saying thank you and that they don't usually accept gifts. It all seems above board to me, but you know the British press like to make something out of nothing. Bless them.
Hopefully we will see some real style soon. I'll keep you posted.
