We are deep in the midst of London Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2012. But before we start talking about that, I would like to do a show and tell. A compare and contrast, if you will. Let's take a quick step back to last week when New York Fashion Week was on the go. There the front rows were full of bright, glossy, immaculate A-listers. There was Emma Stone, stunning in bright red Calvin Klein, seated next to Rooney Mara in black Calvin Klein.
Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, usually a bit on the scruffy side of the style continuum, were a-list-tastic in their classic wayfarers on the front rows and behind the scenes as they presented their collections.
And everyone from The Clooney's girlfriend, Stacey Keibler all the way through to bad-girl Taylor Momsen looked lacy and glowing at Marchesa. Yes, even Taylor Momsen. The girl who likes to rock out on stage in stripper clothes. Or less. Look at her all perfectly poised there at the end of the row. Seriously. This is how New York does fashion week. Intimidating, certainly, but elegant and beautiful and nothing less that what you would expect at the refined upper levels of fashion. Are you a NYFW kinda gal? Or does all this glossy perfection scare you and put you off the fashion?
