There were two designers that were the pick of the 2012 BAFTA Awards red carpet. Two British ladies that always make their clients look amazing. One who has been around for eons and invented punk style. And one that is brand new and invented WAG style. Before abandoning it in favour of impeccable taste. I speak of course about Dame Vivienne Westwood and the lovely Victoria Beckham. Last night both had two dresses on the red carpet - all of which were elegant black. Starting with Viv, she dressed Meryl Streep in corseted elegance. And Christina Hendicks in a showcase of her voluptuous beauty. Stunning.
And my book club mate, Vicky B? Well she dressed Aussie actress Melissa George in shimmering beauty and Downton Abbey's Joanne Froggatt in black zipped chicness. The latter dress was from three years ago - can you believe it - and maintains its incredible relevance even today. In fashion terms that is nothing short of miraculous.
I love all of these looks and the designers who made them. Bring on the Oscars. I can't wait to see who wears Viv and Vics there.
PS: Of course you can make the pictures bigger by clicking on them. Give it a go.
