The Olive Station - Muizenberg

Carol Ann runs The Olive Station, which is a delightful venue for breakfast and deli shopping in the middle of the surfer and hippie spot that is in Muizenberg. Beautifully turned out in a soft, pale green dress with sea green accents, which seemed totally approprite with the ocean in the background and olives in the foreground.

Gerard - Old Biscuit Mill Market

Struggling to find chaps in Cape Town wearing anything other than jeans and t-shirts, I found Gerard at the market on Saturday morning buying flowers and beer. The slightly dishevelled white shirt and shorts combo is just as easy as the t-shirt option, and yet infinitely more stylish. It didn't hurt that he was well mannered and very accommodating about the photo in the face of a bit of joshing from the beer guy.

Vicky - Lower Main Road

Beautiful sunny Saturday morning in Cape Town and Vicky's dress was perfect. Geometric prints in grey with a silver sequined crochet bag and denim jacket. Large sunnies and silver flip flops complete the look. I watched as several people turned their heads to look at her as she walked by.

Nicky - Kennilworth

Sarah - Caledon Street

In this time of enviro-friendly hype, Sarah manages to capture the essence of what it looks like to be stylishly aware in 2008 by combining a contemporary grey t-shirt dress (note tulip shape of the skirt) and canvas tote, with very simple aged silver accessories. She was such a calm, sweet person to chat to that it reminded me of the laid back nature of so many Cape Town people.

Simple Vintage - Kloof Street

The beauty of this outfit is in its simplicity. All it takes to dress up this vintage 70s tube dress is sunglasses and an amazing smile. No jewellery, no fuss. Busi was standing in Kloof Street when I walked by. Her dress is from a friend who gets them all over the world for her. True Cape Town summer style.

Red White and Blue - Plettenberg Bay

Gina is a South African girl living in New York City. On holiday in Plett, I loved how she brought a Manhattan sensibility to a casual sundowners outfit.

Green Shoes - De Waterkant

These shoes take this outfit from cool to stylish. I also liked the loose fit on the jeans. Even though it is only Neil.

Summer Bride - Janine

This Grecian-inspired dress in muted pink and grey is a perfect summer 2008 dress. But with a timeless quality that borrows from the 1940s movie stars.

Grey is the New Black - Green Point

This lady wished to remain annonymous, so I took the shot from the back. Which showed the pearl detail in her hair which was the first thing that caught my eye. Then the beautiful silk chiffon grey tunic over grey capris and the shiny purple tote bag. Look at the ruffles around the neck of the tunic - this has all the summer 08 trends in one outfit.
